Some DART routes to be detoured as a result of St. Patrick's Day celebrations

DART riders who travel from Merle Hay Mall to downtown Des Moines via Douglas Avenue, along with those who ride the bus between Ankeny and downtown Des Moines,  those who use the LINK shuttle in downtown, the downtown D-Line shuttle, and route 60 (University and Ingersoll Avenues) are advised to plan ahead for Monday’s parade in downtown Des Moines.

While most bus service will operate normally all day Monday, these routes will be on detoured routes due to road closures along the parade route, possibly causing minor delays. Detours will begin at 9 a.m. and remain in effect as late as 3 p.m.

The majority of DART services will be operating normally, offering event-goers an easy way to get to and from the parade. Those wanting to ride DART to the parade and avoid parking in downtown Des Moines can visit the MyDART Trip Planner at www.ridedart.com; transit directions are also available in Google Maps and Bing Maps.
