Eat a Cookie, It's The Girl Scouts' 101st Birthday

Today is Girl Scout's 101st birthday, which is of course a great distinction, but it's also a great excuse to eat Girl Scout Cookies. Even better, this entire week is dubbed Girl Scout Week. Find some cookies near Urbandale.

I've got some good news and bad news.

The good news is that today is Girl Scout's 101st birthday, which is of course a great distinction, but it's also a great excuse to eat Girl Scout Cookies. Even better, this entire week is dubbed Girl Scout Week.

Juliette Gordon Low’s vision was to establish an organization in which any American girl could expand her horizons by having fun, exploring new interests, and contributing to society. The core of that vision was girl leadership and I am immensely proud to note that it continues to be at the center of our mission today.

In fact, as we enter our second century of service to girls, our focus on girl leadership is more intense than ever.

Now for the bad news.

If you haven't already demolished your stockpile (and who hasn't?) then you will have to go for a drive to find the closest stand selling those delicious Thin Mints and Samoas, which I think are called something different now but I haven't yet accepted that.
