What's Open, What's Closed on Labor Day in Urbandale?

A three-day weekend looms and Urbandale Patch has a rundown of what's open and closed tied to the Labor Day holiday.

Many of you will have next Monday, Sept. 3, off of work to celebrate Labor Day. So what will be open and closed on the holiday?

is closed Monday, while the is closed Sunday and Monday.

All Urbandale Schools are closed on Sept. 3.

You can't get away from the predicted heat at the , which closed Aug. 26 and will remain closed until Sept. 17.

Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed a day because of Labor Day. Trash and recyclables will be collected Tuesday-Friday next week, according to the city's website

Living History Farms has already shifted to its fall schedule, which means it is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. But, you can visit the historic site Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sept. 2 from noon to 5 p.m.

There is no mail service on Monday and all banks are closed in observance of Labor Day.

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority will follow a Sunday schedule on Labor Day with its regular schedule resuming Tuesday.

If shopping is your thing, Merle Hay Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Labor Day.
