A second wave of winter weather is expected to hit the Des Moines metro this afternoon.
Winter Storm Saturn could drop just one or two inches of snow on the metro, while the northeastern part of the state could see three to nine inches.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Urbandale area until noon today.
STORM TRENDS... THE SNOW HAS ENDED ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA ALTHOUGH PATCHY LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE MAY LINGER UNTIL TEMPERATURES APPROACH OR JUST EXCEED FREEZING TOWARD MIDDAY. ANY ADDITIONAL ICE ACCUMULATIONS WOULD BE MINOR.
LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ONCE AGAIN THIS EVENING.
Early Monday evening, rain will switch to freezing drizzle or snow across southern Iowa.
The advisory calls for gusty winds on Tuesday morning when more snow may develop.
