My son's first grade teacher was concerned he had ADHD, but I didn't want to put him on medicine, so I waited. I was able to volunteer during his second grade year and what I saw brought me to tears. He could hardly stay in his seat, let alone listen and learn. We had him tested and he was placed on the appropriate medication, but we still had a problem.
