UPDATE: Woman who Crashed Car into Urbandale Duplex to be Charged

A woman who crashed her SUV into an Urbandale duplex last week will be charged with failure to maintain control, the Des Moines Register reported.

The driver of the vehicle was Dana Rinderknecht, 52, according to the report.

A woman was taken to the hospital with injuries to the head and chest after crashing her SUV into an Urbandale duplex this afternoon.

The Des Moines Register reports that emergency responders were called to the 6900 block of Urbandale Avenue at 1:34 p.m. The woman had been helped out of the vehicle by neighbors, and was conscious when she was taken to the hospital.

Authorities told the newspaper the woman drove across the yards of three other duplexes, knocking over small trees, before crashing into the house. 

No one was home at the time of the incident, the article said.
