National Read the Declaration of Independence Day

Patriotic Urbandale citizens are invited to participate in reading the Declaration of Independence. In a letter to his wife regarding the signing of the Declaration, John Adams wrote, "It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward evermore" In addition the the suggestions by John Adams, we encourage beginning the family tradition in your household of reading the Declaration all the way through each 4th of July.  For a free copy of the Declaration, you may contact any Urbandale Republican or click here to request a free copy online. Please join us at Lion's Park Gazebo at 1:00 PM after the Parade
