‘I’m in Disbelief, Pretty Much’: Did Urbandale Earn Trip to Little League Baseball World Series?

Urbandale earned another trip to the Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, PA, its first series berth since 2009

The Little League baseball team scored a 3-2 walkoff win against Coon Rapids Andover, the Minnesota state champions, in the Midwest Regional final Friday Stokely Field at the Reuben F. Glick Little League Center, the Des Moines Register reported.

“I’m in disbelief, pretty much,” Urbandale coach Robert Ball said. “It’s total excitement, and I’m so happy for these guys. They definitely earned it and have had a long journey to get here. I couldn’t be more proud.”

The Little League Baseball World Series runs Thursday through Aug. 25. All games will be nationally televised on ESPN.

The team planned to spend the night in Indianapolis Friday, then board an early flight bound for Pennsylvania.
