Fall football practice begins Aug. 12 for the Urbandale High School J-Hawks and wide receiver Allen Lazard, an Iowa State University recruit, is one of the athletes to watch.

Lazard, a 6-foot, 4-inch, 190-pound senior, set a national record in 2012 by returning two interceptions for touchdowns in the same quarter, according to the web site MaxPreps.com, which named Iowa’s “Preseason Mr. Football.”

The 6-foot-4 Lazard drew recruiting interest from such powers as Ohio State, Nebraska, Oregon and Alabama throughout a season during which he caught 40 passes for 928 yards and 11 touchdowns.
