Urbandale’s ‘Boys of Summer’ in Hunt for Little League World Series Crown

An Urbandale Little League team is in the national spotlight, and plays Wednesday for a spot in the final game and a berth in the Little League World Series.
The Iowa state champions in the Little League Midwest Regional take on a Kearney, NE, team at 11 a.m. Wednesday in a rematch of a Sunday game the Urbandale team lost, 6-4, the Des Moines Register reported.
Urbandale advanced to the finals Monday with a 6-2 win over the Missouri state champions.

The Urbandale team needs to win Wednesday and then again Friday to claim the World Series crown.
The winner of Wednesday’s game will meet the winner in the other Midwest Regional semifinal game between Minnesota and the North-South Dakota champions.
