Will Urbandale Little League Move On to Play for the World Series Crown?
The Iowa state champions in the Little League Midwest Regional took on Kearney, Neb., on Wednesday, but did they walk away with the win needed to advance to the Little League World Series?
Urbandale Little League needs to win one last game before the team can advance to the Little League World Series.
And it will get the chance on Friday.
Urbandale defeated Nebraska on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 4 to 3 in the 11th inning, according to WHO Channel 13. The game aired on ESPN 2.
Wednesday was a rematch of a Sunday game the Urbandale team lost, 6-4, the Des Moines Register reported.
Urbandale advanced to the finals Monday with a 6-2 win over the Missouri state champions.
The Urbandale team now needs to win Friday for a chance at the World Series crown. The team will play the winner of the other Midwest Regional semifinal game between Minnesota and the North-South Dakota champions.
