Sheila Twaroski Is Named Urbandale Citizen of the Year

The Urbandale woman was surprised by fellow chamber members at their monthly luncheon Wednesday.

 

Sheila Twaroski was named the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce's 2011 Citizen of the Year!  The announcement and a balloon drop were staged to surprise Twaroski at the Chamber's membership luncheon Wednesday. 

"She is active in everything Urbandale," said Mary Anne Kennedy, owner of Primary Source.  "From the Halloween festivals to every business open house or event, Sheila's smiling face is there."

Twaroski lives and works in Urbandale.  She is a graduate of the Citizen's Police Academy and Leadership Urbandale where she served on the board of directors. 

She also is active with the Urbandale Caring Corps and is a past president of the organization. Active within the Urbandale Community Action Network, she continues to dedicate time to Caring Corps activities such as spring clean up days.

Twaroski is the housing coordinator for the players and recently was selected to be the 2012 Chamber of Commerce Ambassador co-chair.
